Our rooms
Make your stay memorable
Explorer Lodge has seven cozy rooms, each with its own charm—and each guaranteed to make you wake up, look out the window, and say something like “Is this real life?”
All rooms come with views worth framing:
Yes, You can literally watch the midnight sun or northern lights from your pillow.
We have four rooms facing the waterfront, where the sea glows gold during the midnight sun and the northern lights occasionally dance so close you’ll wonder if they’re waving at you. The other three rooms face the mountains, which is equally dramatic—because nothing says “Good morning” like a wall of ancient rock staring majestically back at you.
Available amenities
Every room can be arranged with twin beds or a double bed, depending on whether you’re traveling with a friend, a partner, or someone who snores and needs personal space.
We also have two rooms with proper Norwegian-style bunk beds—way sturdier and way more charming than the bunk beds of your childhood. The bottom part is as wide and comfy as a double bed, ideal for starfishing or curling up with a book.

Bathrooms & Practical Stuff
We know this matters, so here it is:
We have four rooms facing the waterfront, where the sea
We have three toilets, two showers, and big, spacious bathrooms that won’t make you feel like you’re brushing your teeth in a closet.
There’s also a washing machine and dryer for guest use—just please remember the environment. Try not to wash two lonely T-shirts in a full machine. The planet (and your fellow guests) will thank you.
Explorer Lodge’s rooms are simple, cozy, warm, and surrounded by nature so dramatic you’ll feel like you accidentally walked into a documentary. Whether you come for the midnight sun, the northern lights, or just a bit of quiet, we promise—these rooms will feel like home the moment you walk in.
About the Bathrooms ...
We know, we know—private bathrooms are the dream. Everyone wants one. Everyone loves the idea of stepping out of the shower and walking two meters back into their room like royalty.
But here’s the thing:
At Explorer Lodge, sharing bathrooms is not a flaw.
It’s part of the magic.
Because a shared bathroom means this is not a hotel—it’s a home.
It means people talk to each other. They laugh in the hallway. They say “good morning” not to a wall, but to actual humans. You don’t hide behind closed doors here—you connect. And honestly? That’s rare these days.
Yes, you might hear your neighbor brushing their teeth.
Yes, you might meet someone in the hallway in socks.
And yes, sometimes you need to wait a few minutes for your turn.
But these tiny things create something big:
a warm, simple, human experience.
And that is exactly what Explorer Lodge is about.
Here, you don’t rent an isolated cabin where you’re alone behind your windows.
You join a house full of travelers, dreamers, adventurers, families, couples, and friendly strangers who might become your hiking partner, your travel buddy, or someone you share a midnight sun coffee with
Our shared spaces—kitchen, living room, fireplace, balcony—become places where people actually meet.
Where stories get exchanged.
Where the atmosphere is alive, warm, personal, and real.
You don’t come here to hide.
You come here to experience Lofoten—not from a luxurious bubble, but from a place that feels authentic, local, and welcoming. A place with soul.
So yes, no private bathrooms.
But what you get instead is something far more valuable:
Connection.
Community.
Warmth.
Stories.
Friendship.
Real Lofoten life.
And in a world where many places look perfect on Instagram but feel empty in real life, Explorer Lodge offers the opposite:
A little less privacy… but a lot more heart.
